Meet Marley!

Head of Communications and Social Media

She studied at the University of Toronto where she acquired her BSc. in Psychology and Neuroscience. During her studies, she completed courses abroad in England and Spain as well as traveled across the world!

Marley loves trying new things and being active in her community. Her current interests and hobbies are learning languages (ASL and Spanish) pottery making, early childhood development and Montessori education, video production, and photography.

Marley has had a passion for working with vulnerable persons since high school where she volunteered at the learning centre at Charles P. Allen High School. Further, she travelled to Fiji where she interned with Save the Children Fiji working in media development and research pertaining to vulnerable populations.

Marley has had anti-oppression training, and is on the board of a co-op housing complex in Halifax. She also has a toddler and a cat!

Meet our Founder Gillian

She is a proud Nova Scotian and has lived in Nova Scotia all of her life, although she loves to travel. Her travels have taken her to adventures in Cuba, Spain, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, St Maarten, Saba Island, and several points throughout Canada and the US.

Gillian attended Nova Scotia Community College in the 90s and studied accounting. She recently graduated with honours from Business Administration - Management Concentration diploma program. Gillian has previous experience in life and job coaching for youth with intellectual disabilities, sales, advertising and marketing, retail management, food service and production, business start-ups, and bookkeeping. She started her first business when she was nine and further thrived in owning businesses in the sectors of agriculture, forestry, and home heating.

Gillian has the heart of an entrepreneur and loves to assist people to excel in their passions. She knows
what it's like being a parent of a dependent vulnerable adult and has also been advocating fiercely for, working with, and volunteering for persons with intellectual disabilities for over 30 years.

She also has interests in nutrition, active lifestyle, life long education, social events, career consults, and she looks forward to a life when she can just get into her sleeper van and drive to a new sunset, anytime she wishes.

In the meantime, her passion for inclusion drives her to be the person in charge of quality control for best life living and person-directed life planning at GEL Inc.!
